They found an old OSH plate and decided to make use of it. Radosław Wróbel, DSc, from the Wrocław University of Technology Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Bartłomiej Babicz, a graduate of the Wrocław International Photography Forum “Kwadrat” are carrying out an unusual project promoting OSH.
“We invited employees and students of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering to pose for the photographs and we arranged the interior of the room.” - said Radosław Wróbel, associate professor at the Wrocław University of Technology Institute of Machine Design and Operation. So far, we took 7 photographs, and we are planning to take 15 altogether.
We managed to involve in the project with OSH plates, e.g. Prof. Lech Sitnik, Prof. Andrzej Kaźmierczak, marcin Tkaczyk, DSc, as well as the technicians - Artur Król and Piotr Haller. “It takes us a week on average to produce one photo, i.e. from the idea to actual taking it. So far, the most problematic was the photo with Prof. Sitnik. The photo session with his participation lasted only 15 minutes but the arrangement of the background took us almost 7 hours.” - says Wróbel. He adds that he always tries to choose models so that they match the topic of the caption on the plate. “It is easier for me as I know these people”.
Radosław Wróbel got interested in photography when he was 14. His portfolio includes several photography projects which he, however, doesn’t want to boast with. Nor has he published his photographs anywhere under his name. “Maybe I will start now.” - he wonders. Some time ago, we presented in Pryzmat his picture story from India [click here (PL) or here (EN)].
He met Bartłomiej Babicz two years ago and they established a team. “He takes care of the artistic vision, that is, the chaos, and I strive to technically produce the vision, that is, I am making order.” - jokes Wróbel.
The idea is financed by the photographers themselves. “We haven’t talked so far with anybody about how to use it for promotion. For the time being, we are focusing on producing photographs. And what will happen then? We will see. We hope the authorities of Wrocław University of Technology will become interested in the project. We would also like other faculties to join in. We will never run out of OSH plates from the times of the People’s Republic of Poland.” - laughs Wróbel.
The authors of the project also plan to organize a photo exhibition. They have to find a sponsor first, however.
