Prof. Jan Biliszczuk from Wrocław University of Technology has been distinguished by the jury of the “Polish Roads 21” competition. In this way, the jury honoured his professional achievements that contribute to the extolling of the Polish bridge engineering.

The “Polish Roads 21” prize is awarded to people, companies, and institutions that are successful in the road engineering industry and play significant part in the development of road infrastructure in Poland. The prize is awarded jointly by the “Polskie Drogi” monthly magazine, the Research Institute for Roads and Bridges, and the Polish Economic Chamber of Road Engineering. This year saw the 14th edition of the contest.

The award ceremony takes place each year at the opening of the International Fair of Road Construction Industry “AUTOSTRADA-POLSKA” in Kielce, as the wroclaw.gazeta.pl website informs. Laureates receive statuettes of the so-called “Konin road pole”. Its prototype – a stone road pole from the 12th century stands at half of the route from Kruszwica to Kalisz, and is considered the oldest road sign in Poland.
