On Tuesday, as part of the Wrocław University of Technology “Qulturalia”, 30 students learned to dance cha-cha and salsa. “We want to show that dancing is not very difficult and is a lot of fun.” – said Paulina Baczyńska from the “Iskra” Students Ballroom Dance Club that organized the workshops.

The workshops in the Students Culture Zone started with a warm-up. Then the time came for learning the basic steps of cha-cha and salsa, to which Paulina Baczyńska gradually added rotations.

Even incidental passers-by that were walking close to the Students Culture Zone often decided to join the dancing students. “I had a look and stayed. I never learned to dance but I always liked programmes like ‘Dancing with the stars’. Today we learned only two dances but I found out that I may go to ‘Iskra’ and learn more there.” – said Aneta, a second-year student of Environmental Engineering.

Apart from total greenhorns, also more experienced students took part in the workshops. “I used to dance when I was at primary school and a little at secondary school, too. Now I plan to enrol for dance classes again, starting from the next semester. Today I managed to recall some of the steps but I’m still not in my full form.” – said Justyna, a first-year student of Biotechnology.

Paulina Baczyńska from “Iskra” emphasized that it is worth learning to dance, as this ability increases confidence, improves physical condition and silhouette. “I encourage everyone to practise this kind of physical activity. I assure that after a few months of learning at ‘Iskra’ each of our students will shine on the dance floor.” – encouraged Baczyńska.
