Until the end of April, it’s possible to submit candidatures to the competition “Beautiful Wrocław”. It’s already the 24th edition of the plebiscite for the best architectural project carried out in 2013.
The aim of the competition is to foster the architecture of our city and to honour, once a year, especially valuable achievements in the field of architecture. The criteria taken into consideration include architectural, space, and functional-utility qualities.
The prize is awarded in five categories: public utility building/facility, residential multi-family house, residential single-family house, industrial manufacturing building, and road structure. A special prize will be awarded for upgrade of historical building.
Last year, the Wrocław University of Technology building of Geocentrum was distinguished in the category of public utility building/facility. The structure was erected by Kajima Poland, according to the project of Autorska Pracownia Architektury Kuryłowicz & Associates from Wrocław.
Anyone may submit a candidate to the competition. To do this, you need to fill out the submission form and deliver it personally (between 9 AM and 4 PM) or by mail to Towarzystwo Miłośników Wrocławia (Odrzańska St. 39/40, 50-114 Wrocław).
The rules of the competition and submission forms are available here. The forms are also available at the seat of Towarzystwo Miłośników Wrocławia and Wrocław Municipality Citizen Service Centre (Nowy Targ Sq. 1-8, rooms 10 and 11).
The prizes will be awarded as part of the celebrations of the Wrocław Day – on 24th June 2014, at 12 o’clock in the Wrocław Museum of Architecture.
