Our University was visited by Prof. Susanne Stahringer, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, and Prof. Gerhard Roedel, Vice-Rector for Research of Dresden University of Technology.

The aim of the visit was, among other things, to discuss the topic of experimental infrastructure, research and development activity, as well as possible cooperation in the areas of research and student exchange. “We also discussed the possibility of applying together for EU funds within the Horizon 2020 programme.” – said Rector Prof. Tadeusz Więckowski just after the meeting.

Horizon 2020 is the largest EU programme of financing research and innovation in history. Its overall, seven-year budget amounts to nearly 80 billion EUR. Already until 2015, European scientists and innovative companies will be able to apply for 15 billion EUR. It’s the largest programme of support for research and development in the world. The largest support will be awarded to entities that will be conducting research in cooperation with partners from other EU Member States.
