Two days, 80 exhibitors, and nearly 14 thousand people passing through the corridors of the C-13 building. This are the estimated figures of the forthcoming Academic Career Expo at Wrocław University of Technology.
“We organize the event in both the Winter and Summer semester. The previous edition was the first one that lasted two days and I have to admit this formula worked very well.” – says Ewa Żurowska, coordinator of the Academic Career Expo from the MANUS Foundation – “We already have over 70 applications from exhibitors, there are still a few places left.. These are mainly companies from the technological industry in a broad sense, including foreign ones. The Hungarian company National Instruments is the sponsor of the event.”
One of the novelties of the current edition is the information point about European funds. Students will have the opportunity to ask e.g. how to gain support from EU funds in practice, how to fill in applications or where to look for information about EU projects.
The programme of the event includes not only face-to-face contact with potential employers but also a series of workshops for students. “The Wrocław University of Technology Career Office will organize trainings concerning e.g. drawing up application documents, self-presentation, and reduction of recruitment stress.” – announces Żurowska. She adds that the career expo is a good opportunity look at a given company from a different perspective. “The exhibitors offer many attractions – they organize competitions, presentations, knowledge tests, as well as grant prizes. Students, in turn, may ask about particular recruitment requirements or submit their CV. Basing on our experience from previous editions, we know that such opportunity to meet the employer face-to-face helped many students find a good job.”
UDT (Office of Technical Inspection) and the IBM company are the partners of the current edition of the event.
