A 10 km race with start and finish at the Wrocław Stadium on 16th March will officially inaugurate the sporting season for runners. Among the athletes there are many Wrocław University of Technology students and academics.
“As part of the competition, the University Academics Championships will be organized.” – says Robert Jarosz, Director of the Department of Physical Education and Sports at Wrocław University of Technology – “We want the University to be well represented in each age category. The students group will be prepared by Marta Frank, a coach from the Cross Country Running Section.”
The competition is organized by the WROACTIV Foundation. Everyone who is 16 or older may take part in the race. The upper age limit has not been determined: the highest categories are M-70 (for men 70 or older) and K-60 (for women 60 or older).
As the rules of the competition state, its aim is to popularize mass running races as the simplest form of recreation among people of any age, promote a healthy lifestyle, and to integrate the runners society.
Wrocław University of Technology academics that want to participate in the “Dziesiątka WROACTIV” race should contact the Department of Physical Education and Sports.
