Researcher from our University wins a Homing Plus prize

Sebastian Kraszewski, DSc, from the Institute of Biomedical and Process Engineering has won a prize in the Homing Plus competition, organized by the Foundation for Polish Science.
The aim of the competition is to encourage leading young scientists that carry out research abroad to continue their scientific career in Poland. Our laureate was amongst the 14 winners. As the prize, he will obtain almost 300 000 PLN for his project.
Sebastian Kraszewski, DSc, came to Wrocław University of Technology from the French Université de Franche-Comté in Besançon. As part of the programme, he will carry out the project “Deactivation strategy of the sodium-dependent GLUcose transporter for Targeted Anticancer Therapy (GLU-TAT)”.
Each of the winners of the Homing Plus competition will receive a subsidy for their research project (up to 80 000 PLN annually) and a scholarship (5 000 PLN monthly). As part of the programme, also a scholarship of 1 000 PLN monthly is offered for up to two students preparing their Master’s thesis under the supervision of the laureate. The research project will last 1 to 2 years.
