Students from the PWR Racing Team will present their cars and talk about their plans for this year, while the University will sign a cooperation agreement with BMW Inchcape Wrocław. This is how next week’s Tuesday morning will look like in Bibliotech. The event is open for all interested. BMW Inchcape Motors will join the group of over 200 companies cooperating with Wrocław University of Technology. Together, they will carry out the “Drive your Career” project that includes joint R&D activities (e.g. student diploma theses and doctor dissertations or the improvement of company processes), lectures and trainings concerning BMW technology, as well as internships and traineeships for our students, doctoral students, and graduates. “We believe that, as leader of the Dolnośląskie region premium automotive market, we are co-responsible for the regional job market and improving the practical skills of employees and employers.” – emphasizes BMW Inchcape Motor Wrocław in the press note on the start of cooperation with Wrocław University of Technology. The Inchcape Motor company was established in 2004. Its dealer showrooms in Warsaw and Wrocław are, respectively, second and third in BMW cars sales volume in Poland. Globally, Inchcape Motors is a dealer of 18 car brands, including, apart from BMW, also Audi, Mercedes-Benz, Toyota, Lexus and Volkswagen. The cooperation agreement between the company and our University will be signed on Tuesday about noon, in the Centre for Knowledge and Scientific and Technology Information (Bibliotech). Wrocław University of Technology will be represented by Prof. Zbigniew Sroka, Vice-Rector for Student Affairs, and Inchcape Motors by Robert Wójcik, Head of the company’s Wrocław branch. At the same time, two BMW cars will be presented in front of the Bibliotech building – an i3 and an i8. But not only them. There will be also two race cars built by the PWR Racing Team – the RT-01 and the RT-05. During the “Design Presentation” at 11 AM, members of the team will talk about their plans, objectives, and dreams for the current year, as well as present the project of the latest RT-06 race car and sum up their achievements so far. And these are quite significant as for a team that is still gathering experience in the Formula Student. Last year, they took 18th place in the competition in Czech Republic and 11th place in the competition in Italy. Now, they are preparing for the race in May that will be organized in Brooklyn, USA, where they will compete against the world’s leading teams. lucy Translation: Dariusz Więcławski
