Electronics specialists and programmers are especially welcome. They will help designing the third LEM (Light Electric Motorcycle) and try to defend the title of winner of the Smart Moto Challenge from Barcelona LEM turned out victorious in the last year’s international Smart Moto Challenge competition in Barcelona. The motorbike weighs 58 kg, and is built on a space frame. It has adjustable suspension, hydraulic brakes, and is powered by a lithium-ion battery that allows to travel 70 km without charging. It is also fitted with very economical LED lamps. The motorbike has been designed by a team of 20 students and doctoral students from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, the Faculty of Electronics, the Faculty of Computer Science and Management, and the Faculty of Chemistry. The first light motorcycle, called MOS (from English “mosquito”) took third place during Smart Moto Challenge a year earlier. Unfortunately, the prototype was stolen after the competition. Now it is time for the third version of LEM. But to make it, the students need new blood. They look for electronics specialists and programmers. Their task will be to help design a mobile app, the wiring harnesses, and the on-board computer. The recruitment meeting will be held on 20 January at 7 PM in room 606, B-1 building.
