Scientists from many countries will take part in the “Stochastic Models, Statistics and Their Applications” workshops organized at Wrocław University of Technology
The conference – organized for the twelfth time – will be held between 17 and 20 Fabruary. “The subject area of the symposium is very broad.” – says Prof. Ewaryst Rafajłowicz from the Wrocław University of Technology Faculty of Electronics – “This year’s programme includes, for example, a session dedicated to stochastic models in predicting electrical energy prices or speeches relating e.g. to DNA microarrays.” The organizers emphasize that this year’s edition will be focused on interdisciplinary issues related to economic analysis and security.
“140 participants have registered so far for the conference.” – says Prof. Rafajłowicz – “The list of participants includes researches from e.g. Hungary, Czech Republic, the USA, Slovakia, Brazil, Russia, Italy, Australia, Norway, Spain, Japan and Canada.”
The “Stochastic Models, Statistics and Their Applications” (SMSTA) conference was first organized in 1989. It was thought as a Polish-German cooperation forum in the area of stochastic models, mathematical statistics and their application in various fields of technical sciences. Since then, the area of cooperation has extended significantly.
Speeches delivered at the workshops are later often published in prestigious scientific magazines, such as Springer’s “Proceedings in Mathematics and Statistics”.
