Kick-boxing, power lifting, horse riding or maybe bridge? There are over 30 sport sections at Wrocław University of Technology. On Tuesday, in the C-13 building and its courtyard one will be able to try one’s skills at each of the disciplines.
“We are waiting for new competitors.” – says Agnieszka Kotulska from the Wrocław University of Technology Students’ Sport Association (AZS) – “Therefore, we organize the Wrocław University of Technology Sport Day mainly for first-year students.” The event starts at 11 AM. The agenda includes demonstrations of martial arts, indoor rower competition, biking competition, as well as presentation of sporting equipment and an opportunity to talk with athletes representing Wrocław University of Technology. “For example, Kamila Światek, Małgorzata Stupak and Julia Pielka – girls from the sport aerobics section who won 2nd place at the Student Polish Championships in Sport Aerobics in the category of technical universities, will be present. There will be also representatives of the University in beach volleyball – Marta Ciszczoń and Dorota Dydlak, Małgorzata Kot and Kustyna Brożek. It will also be possible to have a talk with Asenata Adamus from the horse riding section, as well as guys from the rowing eight team and mountain bikers.” – enumerates Agnieszka Kotulska. The organizers assure that members of the sections will be ready to answer all questions and they will inform what conditions one has to meet to join the University representation.
“We want to encourage the students to do sports and show how much the University has to offer in this area. We are doing it in an active way, as students will be able to train with us all day.” – says Sylwester Oracz from the MANUS Foundation.
Also, the Biomedical Engineering Scientific Circle invites students for a check-up. “We will offer the diagnostic of heart, lungs, blood saturation, pulse and blood pressure, muscle potential, as well as the cardiac stress test on a treadmill.” – they encourage.
