This is the best result of PWR Racing Team in its history. The team, composed of students from Wrocław University of Technology and Wrocław University of Economics, took 11th place out of the 55 starting teams.

The Wrocław team finished the Italian competition of the Student Formula with a total of 550 703 points. The best result they achieved was in the Acceleration discipline, in which the vehicle acceleration is measured on a distance of 75 m. RT-05 reached a time of 3,84 s, taking second place only behind the Czech vehicle CTU CarTech Combustion.

The vehicle also had a good result in the most difficult discipline, the Endurence, i.e. a 22 km race, taking 11th place.

In the general classification of the competition, the Austrian team TU Graz Racing Team was victorious (916 866 points, Graz Technical University), ahead of the German HAWKS Racing (877 362 points, UAS Hamburg), and the Czech CTU CarTech Combustion (813 566, Czech Technical University in Prague).

“We are tired but very, very satisfied.” – said Magda Klimek from the Wrocław team’s PR crew – “This competition wasn’t easy. A multitude of teams from the entire world took part in the event, with 55 vehicles powered by a combustion engine, and 25 with electrical drive. Competition was tough, but we can’t complain, as we achieved a really good result. And we have to remember we are still beginners in the Student Formula, since there are many teams with much larger experience.”

The Italian competition of the Student Formula started on Friday and lasted until Monday. It is organized by the International Association of Automotive Industry Engineers.

Marcin Tkaczyk, DSc, the team mentor, went to Italy with the students. The team was supported financially by the Wrocław University of Technology Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and sponsors, including Lincoln Electric, ZM Toruń, and Stelweld.

Two weeks ago, the PWR Racing Team took 18th place in a Student Formula race in Hradec Kralove, Czech Republic.
