The Power Systems Computation Conference (phot. Krzysztof Mazur)

A prestigious scientific conference concerning the analysis of issues related to the functioning of energy systems is taking place at Wrocław University of Technology. It will last until Friday.

During the five days of the Power Systems Computation Conference, a total of 224 research papers will be presented. They have been chosen from about 500 applications. Such a large number of papers and stringent criteria of selection add to the prestige of the event. The papers will be presented by researchers from almost 40 countries. Apart from guests from Western Europe, including Germany, Spain, Switzerland, France, Italy, and United Kingdom, our University will also host scientists from Brazil, the USA, Japan, Canada, Russia, India, Iran, Chile, China, Oman or the Republic of South Africa.

The participants of the conference will discuss topics related to the functioning of power systems, as well as technical and economic solutions in the areas of power generation, transmission and utilization.

The Power Systems Computation Conference (PSCC) is regarded as the most prestigious European conference dedicated to power systems. It constitutes an exchange forum of knowledge and experience between researchers and engineers-practitioners, not only from Europe but also other continents, on the application of IT calculation techniques in power systems.

PSCC conferences have been organized regularly since 1963. The previous, 17th edition was organized in Stockholm. According to the Heads of the Organizing Committee, Prof. Jan Iżykowski and Prof. Eugeniusz Rosołowski from the Wrocław University of Technology Faculty of Electronics, choosing Poland and our University for the host of the conference is a huge distinction, especially that this is the first time the conference is taking place in our part of Europe.

Registration of participants started on Monday morning, in the D-20 building. During their stay at Dolny Śląsk, the guest will also have an opportunity to go sightseeing in Wrocław and the region. The agenda includes, e.g. a trip to the Książ Castle.

The conference agenda is available here.
