The last finishing works and commissioning are already
taking place in the Technopolis building at Janiszewskiego St. The “Jack-Bud”
Jacek Grabowski company from Poznań in the contractor of this phase of
construction works. It is also involved in the renovation of the B-1 building.
The handing over
of the building is planned for mid-September.
Technopolis –
the Centre for Advanced IT and Communication Solutions – will serve the Faculty
of Electronics (W-4) and the Faculty of Microsystem Electronics and Photonics
(W-12) of Wrocław University of Technology. The Centre has a usable area of
6 000 sqm plus an underground car park accommodating 49 vehicles. There
are two staircases and one lift that allow to move between the four overground
floors of the building with seminar rooms, lecture rooms, laboratories, rooms
for the academic staff, and offices. On the fourth floor there is also a
conference room and a laboratory with a terrace for carrying out antenna
surveys.
One of the most
important parts of Technopolis is the acoustic chamber, visible from the
outside as a black, glistening form attached to the building. Each of the beams
suspended under the ceiling of the chamber has a lifting capacity of 1 ton. The
devices that will be examined in the chamber will be hung on these beams.
The colours of
the interior correspond to the colours of the facade. The walls and floors are
painted in shades of grey and red, producing an impression of warmth and
elegance.
The
architectural project of Technopolis was made by the STUDIO A+R, Wojciech
Jarząbek i Partnerzy s.c. company.
