Wrocław University of Technology and Nokia have
announced an open competition for an innovative mobile app. The winner will
obtain a prize of 20 000 PLN.
The topic of the
competition is “This is the road to
smartCity”. It is addressed not only to programmers but also to anyone
interested in innovative technologies (and not working at Nokia). The first
stage, which will last until 15th
August, is the registration of the project. The participants must prepare a
description of their idea – the programming language is not important. What
counts is the innovativeness, originality, and usefulness of the app. Until 5th October, complete
projects (containing a short movie clip presenting the app, description drafted
in accordance with competition rules, and the app itself) must be filed. The
winners will be announced between 15th
and 19th October. The rules of the competition are available here.
Apart from the
financial prize, the winner will also be offered the opportunity to present
his/her project at the Code::Dive conference that will be held on 5th
November in Wrocław. The list of guests of the event includes Scott Meyers –
author of a series of books on effective use of the C++ programming language
and Venkat Subramaniam – founder of Agile Developer, expert in the Java
language.
Wrocław
University of Technology is a patron of the conference. More details here.
