For over a
month, a group of 30 students from the Parul Group of Institutes from Vadodara,
India, has been visiting our University. They came to Wrocław as part of the
Summer School programme, organized by our International Office.
The students from India attend classes at the Faculty
of Civil Engineering and the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. Also, they
learn Polish language and history at workshops organized by the Division of
Polish Language for Foreigners.
On Wednesday, they took part in a meeting, at which Ewa Markowska from the Admission Office
presented the University’s offer for international students. “Wrocław
University of Technology combines tradition and modernity. Here you can study
according to the Bologna System and after successful completion of a three-year
BSc programme, you may continue your studies, for example, at a technical
university in Spain. Of course, there are many fields of study run in English.
Also, you can participate in the activities of scientific circles existing at
each of the 12 faculties. You can also train sports, such as cycling or rowing.”
Markowska assured that the University supports its graduates in finding a job.
“You can contact the Career Office or the Academic Business Incubator, if you
want to run your own business. But believe me, employers are eager to hire
people with our University diploma.” – said Markowska.
Students from the Parul Group of Institutes talked
about their impressions about their stay in Wrocław. "I am surprized how
well the public transport functions in Wrocław. There is a lot of greenery and
a mixture of historical and modern buildings. This is my first visit in Poland.
I was afraid that it will be very cold but the weather is not that bad. I would
like to come here again for longer." - said Parth Shah. His friend, Harsh Patel, emphasized that the greatest
challenge is learning Polish. "Polish is a very difficult language, that's
why we started learning Polish vocabulary already in India. At Wrocław
University of Technology we also have Polish classes. I understand some of the language
I here but I have problems communicating in Polish. Declension is also
troublesome. I expect I will be able to achieve an MSc degree at Wrocław
University of Technology, so knowing Polish may be very useful." - said Harsh Patel.
Prof. Imran Molvi, tutor of the students from
the Parul Group of Institutes said: "This is the first student exchange
between Parul Group of Institutes and Wrocław University of Technology. We met
very open and helpful people here. The atmosphere is fantastic. I am very happy
that next year Wrocław University of Technology will come to visit us.”
The Summer School for the students from India will
last until Monday, 28th July.
