Airbus has announced launching of the 4th
edition of the international competition “Fly Your Ideas” for innovative
concepts and solutions for the aviation industry. The winner will receive
30 000 EUR.
“Fly Your
Ideas” is a biennial international competition that has gained UNESCO patronage
in 2012. Thanks to the competition, students have a unique opportunity to make
use of their knowledge, test their teamwork competence in cooperation with
aviation professionals, as well as cope with realistic problems, not restricted
to the topics of airplane structure and functioning. The competition is open
for students of any field of study: from
technical sciences to marketing and from humanities to industrial design.
This year’s
“Fly Your Ideas” competition is a continuation of the previous editions that have
attracted a total of over 11 000
students representing over 600 universities from over 100 countries. The winner
of last year’s edition was Team Levar, a group of 5 industrial design students
from Sao Paulo, Brazil, who designed an innovative airbag for loading and
unloading of luggage, inspired by air hockey table. It may prove helpful to
airport workers involved in the reloading of luggage.
22 students
from Poland took part in the last edition of the competition.
Registration
for the “Fly Your Ideas” competition has already started and from September it
will be possible to submit particular ideas.
The students have to register as teams composed of 3-5 persons, at www.airbus-fyi.com. The participants will have an opportunity to develop their ideas in
cooperation with innovators from Airbus, and the winners will receive
30 000 EUR as the prize.
