First-year students of Wrocław University of
Technology will party in the rhythm of fiery Samba. - We promise many
attractions: dance demonstrations, competitions, acrobatic shows, and great fun
till dawn – announces Łukasz Ptaszek from the Student Government. The party
will start on Thursday at 9:00 PM in the “Eter” club.
- Because of
the large number of students admitted to first year we had to divide the
freshman party between two days. So, on 10th October we will
organize the party for W3, W4, W7, W9, W11 and W12 faculties, and the following
day – for W1, W2, W5, W6, W8 and W10 faculties – says the representative of
the Student Government. The programme of the two events is the same. The
dubbing ceremony of the students by the Deans is a must. Zbigniew Sroka,
Vice-rector for Student Affairs, confirmed his presence.
Each year
the party has a different leitmotif. This year, the organizers chose the Rio de Janeiro Carnival. - Freshman party means, at first place, fun. And the obvious association with
fun is the carnival. Hence the idea of the leitmotif of this year’s party –
explains Łukasz Ptaszek. – We wanted to pass a lot of positive energy to the
students. Let the cold beginning of the academic year be marked by hot
rhythms.
The
programme includes e.g. demonstration of Brazilian Capoeira, learning of the
basic steps of Samba, shows by the “Iskra” Student Club of Ballroom Dancing
with demonstrations of Latin dance and DJ performances. Admittance is free for
Wrocław University of Technology students. - We also invite students from other
universities but they have to take into account that the capacity of the club
is limited so not everyone will be able to get inside. Students of Wrocław
University of Technology will have priority – informs the representative of
the Student Government.
