Prof. David O. Siegmund from the Stanford University Department of Statistics has many significant achievements in the sequential analysis theory and its application in the analysis of clinical tests and statistical genetics. He has supervised over 40 PhD students. He is also a laureate of many prestigious prizes, such as the Guggenheim Fellowship or Humboldt Prize. Prof. Siegmund held important functions in many international associations, e.g. he was the President of the Institute of Mathematical Statistics and the “Bernoulli Society”.
