“DO IT GLOBAL. Globalization – challenges for universities and business” is the title of a conference that was held at Wrocław University of Technology. Representatives of companies, Wrocław University of Technology and local authorities took part in the debate.

The most important topics of the conference were: the cure for crisis in Europe, trends and requirements of the contemporary economy, cooperation between science and the industry and the new “Wrocław Ponts MBA” study programme.

“Our discussion is relevant for every university. Nowadays it’s not possible for a technical university to exist without links to the economy. These links must work both ways, there must be mutual permeation between science and the industry. I am very happy that among our panelists there are graduates of our University.” – said Prof. Tadeusz Więckowski, Rector of Wrocław University of Technology.

Alan Rozen, Dean of the ENPC MBA Paris, talked about the relationships between politics, business, and science in his lecture “At the crossroads of global buisness, education and politics”: “When the individual elements don’t function well, corruption, bankruptcy, and analphabetism occur. MBA studies should indicate the correct directions of such cooperation.” – said Rozen.

The “Globalization – challenges for universities and business” panel discussion started before noon. The panelists included: Leszek Czarnecki, President and CEO of Getin Holding, Krzysztof Domarecki, President and CEO of Selena, Zbigniew Jagiełło, President and CEO of PKO BP, Krzysztof Pietraszkiewicz, President and CEO of ZBP, and Maciej Chorowski from Wrocław University of Technology.
