The championships attract glider pilots studying at universities all over the country. This time, also international athletes were invited for the event.

The Wrocław University of Technology Student Aviation Club is organizing the Student Championships in Accuracy Landing for the 8th time. The competition of students-glider pilots will be held in the days 6-8 June 2014. The championships will start in Wrocław but the competitions themselves will be held at the Lubusz Land Aeroclub airport in Zielona Góra.

According to the rules of the competition, the athlete has to land with this/her glider as close as possible to a previously determined point at the airport. Each pilot performs the flight in the company of an instructor. After completing a circuit flight, the pilot starts landing. Distance from the determined landing point is measured in a straight line from the center of the axle of the glider’s main wheel. Four rounds will be held during the championships – the final score will be determined on the basis of the average of the three best results. There will be both an individual and team classification.

Last year, students from five universities took part in the event. In the team classification, the victory went to Warsaw University of Technology, ahead of Polish Air Force Academy in Dęblin and Wrocław University of Technology.
